Middlesbrough Food Action Plan
The new Middlesbrough Food Action Plan 2024–2028 outlines how we can create a more sustainable and secure future for food while achieving our vision: making Middlesbrough a place where residents can access high-quality, healthy and affordable food and locally produced whenever possible.
This updated plan reflects current challenges and priorities, such as addressing food poverty and the climate emergency, with a focus on 52 actions across the entire food system. Of these, 28 are directly related to tackling the climate emergency, ensuring that our food practices contribute to a greener and more resilient Middlesbrough.
We hope the 2024–2028 Food Action Plan inspires you to support local food initiatives, get involved, and make mindful choices about the food you consume. Together, we can drive the changes needed to ensure healthy, sustainable, and affordable food for all.
We’d love to hear about the positive changes you’re making.
